Kherson Oblast is located in the southern part of Ukraine, the south-western and southern borders of the region are washed by the Black Sea and Sea of Azov, Kherson Oblast includes about 30 islands. The territory of the Kherson Oblast is located mainly within the East European Plain, most of the soils of the Kherson Oblast is fertile black soil, the main waterway of the region is the lower reaches of the navigable Dnieper River. The main natural resources of the Kherson Oblast subsoil are limestone, cement clay, marl, salt, peat, also there are explored some deposits of natural gas. The leading sectors of Kherson Oblast economy are food industry, mechanical engineering, light and chemical industry, power-generating sector. The warm climate and fertile soil have a positive impact on the development of agriculture, cereals, vegetables, grapes, melons are grown in the Kherson Oblast.
